Coloring Pasta: Green Noodle!

Howdy!  It’s Wednesday!  Hump day!  We’ve survived two days of standardized testing!!

As you know, we’re in the midst of our end of the year alphabet countdown!  We’ve had so much fun with our countdown so far!  Tomorrow is a fun art project for the letter N!  Tomorrow we make “Noodle Newt!”  Noodle Newt is a simple lizard outline that I give each monster.  They use pasta noodles dyed green to make a green noodle newt!

Dyed pasta is one of my favorite art materials!  It’s cheap!  It can be used for so many things and you can easily make it any color you want!

You need pasta, food coloring, rubbing alochol, zip-loc bags and paper/styrofoam plates.

Here’s what you do:

1.  Put noodles in a zip loc bag.
2.  Add several drops of food coloring (the more drops you use the darker your color will be)
3.  Add a cap full of rubbing alcohol (this helps with drying time!)
4.  Zip the bag closed!
5.  SHAKE!
6.  After the pasta is colored your pleasure, pour it onto a plate to dry!

BAM!  Colored pasta!

And yes, you might have green fingers!

Now, here is something I am VERY excited about but even MORE NERVOUS about!!!
I am trying something new on the kindergarten smorgasboard!  Are ya ready??
It’s my first ever YOUTUBE video!  That’s right!  The Kindergarten Smorgasboard is on You Tube!

If you can’t see the video on the blog, please click HERE to see me on YouTube!

And finally, I have to share my latest creation!  I’m always excited when I make something crafty!
