A Kindergarten Smorgasboard of Colorful Curtains!

Cold day number 3.  Today our schools are closed because most of our buildings have classrooms with no heat, busted pipes and many of school buses won’t start.  Hopefully, I’ll get to see my ‘staches tomorrow!

Today I want to share a little classroom re-model project I did while I’ve been on this never-ending winter break.  You’ll have to excuse the pictures…it’s hard to get a nice picture when the sun is shining through your work area!

I was browsing Pinterest…of course…what else do you do on a teacher vaca?!  And I ran across this pin from KB Konnected:

I loved the simplicity and colors and thought that would be a simple and fun way to bring some color into my boring windows of my classroom.  So, I jumped in and got to work.
Materials needed:  cardstock in your choice of colors, curtain rod ( I used the $3 tension rod from Wal-Mart), curtain hooks, paper clips, single hole punch and Command Hooks.  I did not end up using the Contact Paper.
Here’s what I did:
I cut the card stock into 4×4 squares.  I used 2 shades of green and 2 shades of blue.
I punched holes into the top and bottom of each square EXCEPT on the top and bottom square where you only need one hole.
I connected the squares using paper clips.
I clipped the curtain ring onto the top square and placed it on the curtain rod that was placed over my window.
I ended up putting contact paper onto the first square and didn’t like how it looked so I did not use contact paper for my curtains!
BAM!  Fun, colorful, cheap and easy curtains to bring some color into your classroom!
I just finished this math creation:
