A Kindergarten Smorgasboard Five For Friday

Happy Friday!  I just wrapped day one of a two day training.  Tomorrow is day two.  Yep, Saturday.  BUT I must admit that I am super excited about this technology initiative happening in our district!  I won’t give ya all the details, but after completing 8 online modules (4 hours total) every teacher in our district will receive a laptop.  I am being trained as one of the All-Star Trainers so I am one of the leaders in the plan!  Super exciting!  The online PD model is what our district is moving to so that PD can now be personalized!  Seriously, pretty cool stuff.  AND yesterday the President Of The United States said that our district was a model for the nation!  It’s nice to be recognized!

Since it’s Friday, I am linking up with Doodlebugs for Five For Friday!  Here are five snapshots of my week…

Ole Blue has been my faithful and trusted companion for 7 years!  We’ve been through 4 classrooms together.  Lots of burned fingers.  And some serious glitter.  He will be sadly missed.  BUT now I can buy a new glue gun.  I wonder if they make pink sparkly ones?!?!?!?!?!?
Speaking of sparkle, my amazing friend Robin is here in Tennessee from California to welcome home her son from Afghanistan and she visited my classroom this week and brought me this.  People it’s the mantra of my life.  Keep calm and sparkle!  It ain’t nothin to stress about….just sparkle!  SPARKLE! SPARKLE!  And never let anyone diminish your sparkle.  If they do, send them my way and I’ll set them straight!
I am beyond impressed with how our penguin research journals are going!  Seriously…my little ‘staches are penguin experts!  I love how they’re engaged and asking for to work on their journals.  I foresee more of these research journals in the future!
Here is the new classroom.  It’s bigger and better!   When I walked in Monday I felt some stress melt away because we finally have a classroom that can handle the way we teach and learn.  LOVE IT!
And finally, ME!
If you’ll indulge me…I must address something a little personal…buckle up, it’s a tear jerker!  (OK, that might be dramatic…but that’s how I roll!)

I just want to say that I am so thankful for each and every person who reads this crazy, manly, glittery and random rambling blog.  I am honored by your support and encouragement, your words, your comments, your ideas and your questions and your criticisms.  I am humbled that you trust me as a professional to use my ideas and creations with your students.  I am especially honored that you accept me for me and allow me to be me and share my life inside and outside of the classroom with you.  Writing this blog and connecting with so many amazing people is truly an honor and a privilege that you have given me.  I love ya all and am honored to be among an amazing group of supportive, encouraging, accepting, tolerant, intelligent, passionate, creative, and fun teachers.  Ya’ll are simply the best.  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to simply be me.
And if anyone steals your sparkle, you know where to send them….Nobody messes with my friends.  Nobody!
