Howdy!  I hope you have enjoyed the Spring Teacher Meet Up Blog Hop!  I hope you visited each blog to see all of the epic goodness from that weekend!
I was so excited to head to Indiana for this meet up.  Not only did I get so see some friends and meet some people I’ve wanted to meet…but this was my old stomping grounds.  True story.  The meet up was held at the beautiful French Lick Springs Resort which is about 30 minutes from where I grew up!  I loved being there and enjoying a little bit of home!  In fact, Friday night my family met up with some of us bloggers and teachers for dinner!!  Good times people, good times.  Ya’ll think I’m crazy? You should meet my parents…it comes honestly!
My friend Holly from Mrs. Ehle’s Kindergarten was the mastermind behind this epic weekend!  She arranged everything, including great give-aways and donations for all the teachers in attendance!
I loved my table mates and the meet up!!!  We had such a blast bonding all weekend.  We ate and drank and ate and ate…and shared stories.  We laughed til we cried.  We approached random strangers asking if they were teachers.  We had strange men leering at us.  People, it was epic!
Part of the fun of the meet up was the swag we all got!  People, Scentos loves teachers like crazy.  If you don’t have these in your classroom, run to the store, and buy some Scentos.  You will love them.  Your kids will love them.  Your nose will love them.  How awesome of Scentos to send these fabulous goodies for every teacher in attendance?!  The markers are actually prototypes and the 53 teachers at the meet up are the only people outside of the factory to touch these.  I’ve been using mine in my classroom everyday and LOVE them!  But they don’t compare to the 10 scent pen.  OMG!  I got one of these pens back when it was a prototype and used it non-stop.  It suffered a tragic end during my epic battle with the stomach virus.  But I have a new one now!!!  The pens will be in Michael’s stores before Easter!
Holly had a brilliant idea for each teacher to bring a favorite teacher tool to give away.  We played a game and everyone got epic prizes!  There were some great ideas…pool noodle ten frames (Remember those?!?!?!), tons of Sharpies and Flair Pens…And I got a differentiation cube!  People, I have these in my class and LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!  You must get some.  They are from Carson Dellosa and they make centers and learning fun.  We use ours daily!  I was very excited to add this one to my collection!
I also won a $50 gift certificate to School Girl Style!  She created all of the decorations for the meet up and is an uber talented and sweet person!!  I can’t wait to spend my dinero on some classroom goodies!
French Lick is also home to the 8th wonder of the world.  The West Baden Springs Resort which features this stunning dome!  We were led to believe there was “a light show” on the dome at night.  We gathered all 50 bloggers under the dome (yes, we ran off some people…and rearranged all of the furniture) for a night of friendship and laughter and…the most lame light show ever.  People, there was no light show.  It was some flood lights that changed colors.  TRUTH!  But we had a blast hanging out and sharing the company of amazing teachers and friends!
So, we’re supposed to share 3 things we brought away from the weekend…so here are my 3:
1.  Teachers are awesome!  50 teachers used their time and money to travel and spend a weekend with other teachers to be inspired and to be better at what we do.  #EVALUATETHAT   I mean, how amazing is that?
2.  Windows Live Writer is a great tool for writing blogs.  Too bad there is no Mac equivalent.    But Mars Editor is pretty good too.
3.  The pool noodle base ten blocks.  Seriously, epic right there.
But seriously, this was such an inspiring, relaxing and fun weekend.  I felt so energized and ready to conquer the world after a weekend surrounded by such incredible, talented, generous and funny teachers.  I am truly blessed by you all.
And, I looked good in my new blog meet up outfit!
AND NOW…What you really came for…you can enter to win some of the amazing prizes that we won at the meet up!  TRUE STORY!!!  Just enter using the Rafflecopter!!!  Someone is going to win some epic prizes.
