Science Experiment: Elephant Toothpaste

Every Friday we throw out our regular schedule and have Foodie Fun Friday and Mad Science!  For mad science, I dress as a mad scientist and we do a hands on science experiment.
Where does Mr. Greg find his experiments??  PINTEREST!  I try to find things that relate to our theme or current unit….but that doesn’t always happen so sometimes we just do things that Mr. Greg thinks the ‘staches would love.  (And let’s be honest…things I wanna try!  hehe)
Last week we made elephant toothpaste and people, it was EPIC good times.
To quote one of my ‘staches:  “THIS IS AWESOMEST!”
Yeah.  Awesomest.  It’s that good!
Here’s what you need:
hot water
yeast
peroxide
dishwashing liquid
food coloring
plastic water bottles
1.  Pour 1/2 cup of peroxide into bottles.
2.  Mix 1 tsp of yeast and 2 tbsp of warm water in a separate cup.
Make sure to mix until all of the yeast is mixed.
3.  Add 2-3 drops of food coloring and some soap into the peroxide.
4.  Add the yeast mixture to the bottle!
BAM!  Be prepared for the shrieks of delight!
