Howdy ya’ll!!!
So you know I love my DIY lightbox that I made last summer.
It’s a HUGE hit in the classroom. It’s hands on. It’s engaging. It’s fun. It lights up real pretty and all. It almost sparkles and you know how much I love things that sparkle. OOOO SPARKLY!
Well you also know that I hoard the little plastic shot glasses from Dollar Tree. You know…for shots of water and Kool Aid! Like ya’ll…they are stating to look at me like I might have a problem because I’m buying so many…I try to convince them that the cups are for 5 year olds…and well…that sounds really bad!
So I used some of my math manipulatives to make a differentiated number recognition and writing lightbox center/workstation/hippopotamus.
Total cost of this project: $3.
You need: plastic manipulative cups (AKA shot glasses) and address labels (Avery 15660)
I printed the numbers on my labels. Get your number labels here!
Then I attached the number labels to the cups.
BAM! Number order. Number recognition. Number writing.
Hands on. Engaging. Fun.

I made two different recording sheets so the center/workstation/hippopotamus can be easily differentiated!

Thank you. I'm going to make this for next year. I love it.
I've been thinking about making a light box. I have just been enjoying my lazy day today so I haven't went shopping yet.
Hi Greg. I linked up, but it's not showing up on your page. Has anyone else linked up? I'd love to see their ideas.
Alright, I think I'm going to have to give in and make a light box by the end of the summer. They are just too cool and have such fun activities for me not to let my kiddos use one. Thanks for the number idea!
Great Idea! Back to Dollar Tree I go, LOL!
I saw your lightbox in the video from last weeks link up! Thanks for the tip, I cam going to try and make one of these for the coming year!
Greg, Your ideas are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing with us! I had a question. What font did you use for your light box numbers? I would like to add up to 30 and make a 10's and 5's game as well. Thank you again for your wonderful ideas!
KB STICK TO THE PLAN!
