Light Table Counting To 100

One of the most popular centers is our class light table or light box.  Our light table is a DIY project that I made  couple of years ago.  We use it for math and literacy centers but I’ve really been wanting to step up our light table game.  So a little bit of research and light table counting was born! You will need:

reusable ice cubes (Walmart or Amazon)

tracing paper (Amazon)

Sharpie

Optional:  Silhouette Cameo/Cricut machine

I cut out the numbers to 100 using my Silhouette Cameo and vinyl.  I attached the numbers to the cubes.  You can also (and easily) write on the cubes with a Sharpie!

These light table counting cubes can be used in a couple of ways.

First, you can just have your students put them in order to 100 on the light table!

Light Table Number Recognition

Next, I took some tracing paper and wrote numbers to 100 on the paper.  Place the paper on the light table.

Students can choose a cube, say the number and place it on the number!   Great for number recognition!
