Well, it’s Sunday but you won’t see Schedulin’ Sunday!  Technically we have school next week.  3.5 days.  But I am not planning anything.  It’s MOVIE WEEK!  Not really….we have a few things to finish up.  I am planning a little celebration for our last day.  And we’re just gonna spend time together being the ‘staches for a few more days.  No tears.  No tears.

And I realized that this post is number 600.  Holy crap.  I sure have rambled on a lot.  600!  Thanks for reading my insanity and supporting me! Here’s to the next 600!

So last week I asked all of my Facebook teacher friends to share their favorite read alouds for the end of the year.  I got a terrific response with tons of great ideas for read alouds so I wanted to share those with you.  It’s great how we all think alike in ways and the same books made lots of appearances and then we all have our personal likes.  I got some terrific new ideas for books.  And yes, they’re already ordered on Amazon (Amazon Prime and 1 Click are DANGEROUS.  My $1,000 credit card bill is bad…but it’s worth it, right?!)

So here are all of the end of the year read aloud suggestions from my friends on Facebook!  I hope you find some great new books for your class!  And please leave comments with other books that aren’t included!!!  The more the merrier!  You can click on any of the books to get them at Amazon!!!!!

You should add “A House for Hermit Crab” to your list. I always read it on the last day of school and tell the kids they are like the hermit crab. They've outgrown their shells (kindergarten) and need to find a better shell to fit them (first grade). We also discuss how they've learned all they can in kinder and their first grade teachers are waiting to help them learn even more.
