It’s just another Manic Monday!  But after this I have FIVE Monday’s left at my current school!  I got the official confirmation today that I will be transferring to a new school next year!  WOOHOO!

People, when I say manic, I mean it.  Our morning started off with a friend making number two all over the bathroom…floor, walls, toilet.  Yep.  And then another friend made number two in the hallway.  True story.  It was definitely a craptastic day in the kindergarten smorgasboard!

However, here is the story of the day.  Today I told the monsters that we only had 6 weeks of school left and that means we have only 30 days left of kindergarten and then it’s off to first grade.  One of my monsters CRIED!  She was so upset that kindergarten was over!  There is no crying in kindergarten until the last day of school.  Mr. Greg can’t handle it.  Let’s late until the last day!

We kicked off our zoo animals week with MEERKATS!  It is so amazing how much information the monsters retain when something really interests them.  They could recall all of the information in the meerkat book!  We are meerkat experts!  And it’s such a fun engaging way to meet common core standards for non-fiction reading!

Now you know, I love craftivities and I couldn’t find one for meerkats.  What’s a kindergarten teacher to do?!?!  Well, you make one.  Now, I am not an artist by any means.  I can’t draw.  Even a straight line with a ruler.  So I am very proud of this.  I sat down last night and put this thing together.  It turned out so cute!  (At least I think so!)

Here is the craftivity for anyone who wants it!!!  It is super easy and super cute and the monsters will LOVE IT!
