Elevate! Chattanooga!

Today I want to share a peek into our recent ELEVATE!  Chattanooga conference!   Picture it. Chattanooga.  2017.  245 teachers gathered in the ballroom of The Chattanoogan Hotel for a 1 day conference to celebrate learning and teaching!

Elevate!

Our ELEVATE! conferences are designed to be low key, engaging, uplifting and FUN! The day is designed for collaboration, laughter, sharing and inspiration!   The mission of ELEVATE is to take teaching to new heights by elevating teachers, elevating students, and elevating classrooms.  When teachers leave our conferences we hope that they feel inspired, encouraged, uplifted and we hope that they have at least 1 usable idea that they can replicate in their classroom the next day!

We were so lucky to get world renowned children’s book author Todd Parr give the keynote!  Ya’ll this was a dream come true for me because Todd has been such an inspiration to me and I love his message of love and tolerance and BEING YOU!   So this was huge for me.  True story…Todd walked into the ballroom Friday night as we were setting up and I was totally starstruck to the point of just staring with my mouth open like a weirdo!   Yep.

Being in a room full of teachers is simply amazing.  The energy and the passion is contagious.  I love teaching and I love being able to share my passion for all things teaching but I also love learning all kinds of new things from teachers!   And that’s what ELEVATE! is all about!!  Collaboration and sharing and inspiring each other to ELEVATE!  classrooms!

Make And Take!

Part of our day includes a Make And Take activity!   The make and take session is designed so you leave the conference with a ready made center activity for your classroom.  We designed the make and take to be differentiated so that teachers can make whatever center/activity or skill they need for their students!   We provide all the materials.  You just provide the creativity!

The Debbie Smedley Memorial Scholarship Fund

One of the most emotional points of the day comes when we award The Debbie Smedley Memorial Scholarship to one attendee.  This $500 scholarship is chosen at random and is supported by our amazing friends.   The fund was started last year by our “tribe” of friends and continues to grow thanks to our many friends and  supporters.   Everyone who registers for the conference is automatically entered into the drawing and the winner is announced at the conference and a check is presented to the winner!

Recently we teamed up a group of LuLaroe sellers for a fundraiser to raise money for the scholarship.  Ya’ll were so generous that we raised enough funds for FOUR scholarships that will be awarded at future ELEVATE conferences!     A HUGE thank you to Salena Flint for reaching out and starting the fundraiser!

The winner of The Debbie Smedley Memorial Scholarship fund for Elevate! Chattanooga was:

DANIELLE STANDIFORD

We have to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our sponsors!  Their generosity and support for teachers is incredible! Please visit these amazing companies and show them your love!
