Centers in the classroom can be a lot. Let’s be real. They can be stressful and overwhelming. Our center management system makes centers more kid-friendly and teacher-friendly. Centers In The Classroom: Introducing Centers
We start centers in the second week of school. On day 1, we go over expectations and procedures. Then, students get to choose a tub. They assigned a color randomly at this point (later, the tubs are data-driven to meet the needs of students). When they choose a tub, I give them a VERY BRIEF explanation of what to do. Then they go off to get started. Once everyone has a tub, I move around the room helping students as they work. For the next two weeks, we’ll just focus on these procedures and routines.
