Centers in the classroom can be a lot. Let’s be real. They can be stressful and overwhelming. Our center management system makes centers more kid-friendly and teacher-friendly. You can learn more about how we handle centers by clicking the link at the end of this post. This post highlights how we introduce our tub centers.

Centers In The Classroom: Introducing Centers
We start centers in the second week of school. On day 1, we go over expectations and procedures. Then, students get to choose a tub. They assigned a color randomly at this point (later, the tubs are data-driven to meet the needs of students). When they choose a tub, I give them a VERY BRIEF explanation of what to do. Then they go off to get started. Once everyone has a tub, I move around the room helping students as they work. For the next two weeks, we’ll just focus on these procedures and routines.
