A Kindergarten Smorgasboard Five For Friday!

HELLO SUMMER VACATION!  Today was my last day as a Kindergarten teacher at my school!  I am on to bigger and better teaching adventures!!!  (OK, I have to go back Tuesday for teacher work day but I have to do my records and that’s all!)  Wednesday is the big moving day!
I am celebrating my kick off to summer with my friend Doodle Bugs for the always fun Five For Friday!  Here are my five fun photos of the week!
I am packed up and ready for the move!  This is about 50% of my stuff.  6 years of teaching accumulates a ton of stuff.  I have downsized…my new classroom is half the size of my old one!  YIKES!
The hardest part of leaving…is these two amazing women!  I have been so privileged to work with these teachers for 4 years.  I am even more privileged to call them friends and family.  They are my inspirations!  I thought this was the cutest gift idea!  How stinkin’ cute are we?!?!   And yes, I did have an “Oprah Ugly Cry” moment during our end of the year program while trying to speak about these two.  People, the cry was so rough I had to leave the stage!
As a teacher I don’t need gifts or presents for doing my job (but hey, this boy loves presents so feel free…).  There is nothing more rewarding and touching than a letter like this.  How can you not love your job and be inspired to be even better when you read words this powerful?
“I no long hear “I can’t”…now it’s “I got this!”  People, that sums it up for me as a teacher!
I have started assembling my teacher binder for next year!  Guess what my classroom theme is?!  Rumor is that there is an awesome freebie coming your way!  Stay tuned!

And if you need me the next 6 weeks, I will be on the balcony of my house.
HAPPY SUMMER from the Kindergarten Smorgasboard and our friend JT!
