Wow! What an emotional day! Today was our kindergarten program (sadly not our last day…that is Friday!) and Mr. Greg almost went into the famous “Oprah ugly cry!” I had written a little speech thanking my friend Leigh and her therapy dog, Bear, for coming to our class weekly and then I had some stuff written about my two amazing teammates. Well, I couldn’t even get through the part where I told the audience I was not returning next year. I had to stop and go backstage while one of said teammates read my little speech. I finally was able to compose myself to speak about my awesome teammates. Leaving is something I ready to do and something that will be a very good decision, but it’s much harder than I expected! Especially leaving my two friends. Shoo, I am exhausted!
I also packed up all of my construction paper, loaded it into my trunk and brought it home! It now resides in the closet of the Kindergarten Smorgasboard world headquarters! People, that stuff is like gold! It must be kept safe and secure!
Monday we did our final art project of the year! We made our self portraits! How cute are these! The monsters did such a good job making these look like themselves….with the exception of the blue facial features! This is such a fun end of the year project!
The face templates come from Krista at Creative Clips! They are perfect for this project! The facial features were something I had in my classroom and have no clue where they came from!
As we all watch the news out of Oklahoma, we are saddened by the loss of life and suffering. We are also inspired by the heroism of the teachers in the two elementary schools!
As teachers we are always willing to help in anyway possible. Check out these two fundraisers to help the people of Moore OK!
