Howdy ya’ll!  It’s Teacher Week over at Blog Hoppin so I am joining in the Teacher Week fun!  Be sure to check back each day this week for a different super fun topic!

Today is meet the teacher…that means this blog post is all about…my favorite person… ME!  True story!  So are ya ready for 10 things about Mr. Greg??

1.  I live in Music City USA the home of country music.  And guess what?  I’m not a music fan at all. True story.  I have NPR on in my car all the time.  I will listen to music when running or working out…but otherwise…NPR!  Yeah…I’m a dork.  But I feel much smarter!

And living in Music City does lend itself to some random celebrity sightings…in fact, a friend is currently sitting at Noodles and Company watching Taylor Swift eat noodles!  TRUE STORY!  We ran into George Jones at Nordstrom last year and this past winter we sat next to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in the movie theater to see the movie Lincoln!

2.  I have a HUGE phobia of squirrels.  True story. I avoid them like the plaque.  They terrify me.  People, they will jump on you and eat your face off.  Google it.  Squirrel attacks on the rise.  They’re taking over the world.  It all started when I was staying with my aunt and a squirrel got between me and the screen door (on a screened in porch) and it was growling at me.  I called my mommy who was 3 hours away to save me!  Seriously.  Squirrel phobia.

3.  I spent 2 summers teaching in Ecuador and a summer working at an orphanage in Peru.  Those were some seriously amazing summers!  Ecuador was amazing.  Earthquake?  check.  Peeing at the top of one of the world’s highest points?  Check.  Volcanic eruption?  Check.  Eating guinea pig?    Check!  A life changing experience??  Absolutely!
The lake behind me is the crater of an active volcano…true story.  We even went on a boat ride around the lake…because, really, what else do you do with a active volcano lake?!  You could even see the nitrogen bubbles bubbling up through the water!
4.
Nuff said.  I don’t know where or how it started but I think it all started when I had my blog redesigned and asked for mustaches (cuz, um, if you haven’t noticed, I am a male kindergarten teacher and mustaches=manly!) and it just took off!  My office has mustaches.  My classroom theme is mustaches.  I have mustache socks and other unmentionables.  True story.  People are always messaging, emailing, texting me and tagging me with mustache items.  AND I LOVE IT!  I’ve even had people mail me awesome mustache product!!!  Long live the ‘stache!
5.  I have a fur baby that is convinced that he is a furry human.  I am convinced if he could sit in a chair at the dining room table, he would eat dinner with us.  He is super spoiled.  And super loved.  We say he has gorilla eyes because his eyes are so big and expressive!  He even gives you dirty looks when he gets mad at you.  Butters is definitely the CEO of The Kindergarten Smorgasboard!
6.  I insist that my socks (and unmentionables

) match every day.  If my shirt is yellow, my socks are yellow.  And so are…well…it’s true.  I must be color coordinated or i’m not happy.  And bright colors are a must!  I ask the mister if an outfit looks OK and he usually responds:  For other people, No.  But it’s perfect for you and you totally pull it off!!!  I ain’t afraid to dress bold and fun!

And fun, silly, cute socks are a must.  No boring dress socks for me!
Today’s outfit!

7.  I don’t like chewing gum.  It’s just a weird substance that requires too much work.  Give me a butterscotch or jolly rancher any day!
8.  I am a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY picky eater.  Pizza, hamburgers, chicken, pork chops, ham, corn, potatoes, spaghetti…that about sums it up.  I love tomato based products (ketchup, spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, etc) but hate tomatoes!  It drives the mister crazy!  But it’s who I am!
And ranch is a must!  I love ranch dressing.  I love it so much that our wedding caterer had her partner stop at the store and bring a bottle of ranch dressing to our wedding just for me!  When we arrived at the reception it was sitting at our table!!
9.  I’ve been married for almost a year!  October 6th is our 1 year anniversary!  It’s been the best year of my life and I am so blessed to have someone who loves me for me and puts up with my eccentric nature and tolerates my obsessions (teaching, glitter, mustaches) and let’s be me…even though I make him mad sometimes.
And number 10.
I am a very happy, go with the flow, giggly guy!!  Very rarely do I ever get upset or down or sad.  I love people and I love being around people.  I am just a social, giggly guy!
