November 11th, 2013 Wednesday Centers: CVC Centers

HUMP DAY!  I am happy to report that my ‘staches were MUCH better today!  They just needed to be reminded to be awesome-tacular!  I hope you had a fantastic hump day!
Wednesday means a sneak peek into our classroom for a gander at our math and literacy centers!
I am always proud of what work happens during our center time.  The ‘staches are generally engaged and lots of great learning occurs.  But today, something GREG-TASTIC happened.  It was like music to my ears.
I introduced our new What Does The Fox Say CVC Word centers…and this is what I heard all over the room during centers…”b-u-g…bug”  “c-u-t…cut”  “j-a-m…jam”…it was a chorus of blending and segmenting.  Seriously, it was every where!!!!  I’m not one to say much about stuff I’ve created…but seriously, I cannot wait to get the rest of these activities printed and laminated and in the hands of the ‘staches.  OMG!
What Does The Fox Say?

Segmenting at it’s best!  Thinking Maps and CVC Words!

When my little guy finished these puzzles he was BEAMING!  He was reading his sounds and blending those words so well!!

Seriously…best centers ever (if I do say so myself!)

This counting center is from my friends at Apples And ABCs!  It’s designed for use with snap cubes but today one of my ‘staches decided to use…MUSTACHES!  So proud!  These were leftover from my birthday so I threw them in our math maipulatives area…they’re perfect!

This is also a new center that I rolled out today (ummm I totally printed it a week ago…and it disappeared…gone.  Vanished.)  So…it got put into math centers today.  It was a hit!  The ‘staches did so great with this!  One of them said “That was easy!”   Uhhuh!
