Let’s see…hump day goes like this: Fire Drill tells me I’m getting fat. Three of the ‘staches fall on the ice. Including Fire Drill who goes down three times. I try to be the hero and rescue her from the ice and guess what?! I go down. Everyone cracks up hysterically. Fire Drill laughs the most. And the custom shelving I ordered for the classroom is being paid for so I don’t have to pay the $160!!! Happy Hump Day!
Wednesday means it’s time for a sneak peek into our centers! Wanna know how to be the coolest teacher ever?! Tell your students you worked on making new centers. Instant best teacher award. They get so excited when they ask what I did and I tell them I’m making new centers for them. they’re just so darn awesome, those little ‘staches!
We’ve loved spinning and graphing beginning and ending sounds! I love hearing the sounds of words and sounds as they work!
I seriously cannot tell you how much fun and how much learning we’ve had with this What Does The Fox say center!! They beg for these and you can hear them segmenting, blending, and reading words!!! It’s music to my ears! Don’t believe me?! Check out this message I received today from a teacher using these centers:

Ten frames? Check. These little Santa math manipulatives that I found at Big Lots are AH-MAZING!

And for those who are still learning letters: how about a cookie sheet, a free printable and some magnetic letter?!
I love this center because it’s so easy and cheap. I printed the sheet from the Florida Center For Reading Research and used the Modge Podge to stick it on the cookie sheet. DONE! The FCRR has amazing stuff!
