A Kindergarten Smorgasboard Schedulin’ Sunday: December 16th, 2013

Happy Sunday!  Here at The Kindergarten Smorgasboard World Headquarters, we are on germ duty.  The mister is battling a nasty case of the flu…so I am taking care of him and trying to keep the germs away with Lysol, Clorox wipes and bleach!  Even the CEO, Butters, has been Lysoled a few times.  Ain’t nobody got time the flu this week…

So here is my week in a nutshell:  Parent gifts, two craftivities, central office instructional rounds, assessments, party, sing along, Polar Express Pajama Party, cards for pen pals…yep, that’s about it.  In 4.5 days.  We can do it!

Here are the craftivities we will be doing!  I love these poinsettias!  They are large and bright so they make great visual displays!

For Thanksgiving, we do a thankful for sight words activity that the staches love.  So I created a similiar activity for Christmas!  We will be lighting up our sight words!  The students will color the words they can read and string them up!  We will “light up” our classroom with our words!

And it’s only $2!
We will work on Christmas gifts for parents!  I am going to use this amazing and CHEAP idea from my friend Erin at Eberhart’s Explorers!  I’m not sure exactly what I’mg going to do…but I’ll figure it out!
So, that pretty much is our week!  I’ll be finishing assessments…getting observed by central office staff Tuesday…party on Thursday…hot chocolate pajama party on Friday…decorating gingerbread man cookies….and the usual Kindergarten Smorgasboard common core aligned shenanigans!
And in an effort to keep the staches moving and learning, I whipped up a Christmas version of the very popular count the room activity!
This is differentiated and I changed it up a bit this time!  Per request, this set is for 1-10, 1-20 and 1-25!  Click the picture to download!
Here is to an amazing week.  Here is to survival and calm children!  Here is to many happy and fun memories!
All of my Christmas creations are still 50% off…so if you need some last minute activities for the week, check it out!  Centers=keep the class engaged while teacher assesses!
