NashTeacherBash!

I am finally sitting down to share all the fun from our Nashteacherbash!  We had an amazing weekend of eating…networking…laughing…eating….hugging…eating….Did I mention we ate a lot?!
There is nothing quite like a teacher meetup.  Imagine having a room full of like minded teachers together…talking, sharing, laughing, encouraging and supporting one another.  Each time I leave a teacher meetup, I feel so inspired and uplifted!   I always wish those people who attack and criticize teachers would attend one of these meetups.   Picture it:  Weekends…summer…on our own dime…gathering together to become better at what we do so we can be our best for our students… It really is a gathering of the best of the best!   #evaluatethat
So to all 60 people who showed up….I say… THANK YOU!   Thank you for inspiring and encouraging me.  Thank you for seeking out people to make you better.   Thank you for being part of something incredibly special and unique.   Every classroom deserves teachers like you!!!!!!!!
If you’ve never attended a teacher meetup, I hope you will make plans to attend one.  You will be so glad you did!
First and foremost….we have to give our sponsors an EPIC shoutout!!!
Our PRESENTING SPONSORS for this event were GONOODLE AND ESGI!
GoNoodle was generous enough to pay for lunch for everyone!   We had the event catered by Jim And Nick’s BBQ!   People…the macaroni and cheese….nuff said!
ESGI donated a site license as one of our give away prizes.  People… that prize was worth $2,000.  Yeah.  $2,000.
We had over …..wait for it…..wait for it….  $14,000 in prizes and freebies.  YES!  FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!!!!!   Everyone got a swag bag full of goodies and every single person won a prize!   That deserves GLITTER!!!!!
Some of our sponors:
Scentos
Creative Teaching Press
Teachers Pay Teachers
Remind
Euerka
Tallahassee Sunday
Teaching In The Tongass
Graphics From The Pond
Polka Dots and Pals
Digi By Amy
Scholastic
A Plus Images
Educents
And many others….. (Please be sure to show these sponsors your love!!!!!  These companies clearly support teachers all year long and deserve our support and appreciation!)
We kicked off our weekend of teacher-ness at the new stadium for the Nashville Sounds.  Allegedly there was a baseball game happening…but don’t ask me.  I was too busy catching up with friends and getting to know new friends!
Another HUGE shout out to GoNoodle for the awesome shades for the game and our friends at Remind for the shirts!!

PS  Fireworks are awesome.  I love fireworks.  But when the fireworks are on the field…directly behind 2nd base…and you’re THAT close…it’s not so fun.  Just sayin…too close…
Then it was time for the main event!   We gathered at Atmalogy on West End Ave for the NASHTEACHERBASH!   Over 60 teachers showed up for this afternoon of food and networking!  We even had a surprise visitor!!!
People came from all over…Tennessee…Indiana…Florida…North Carolina…South Carolina…
Look at all of that teacher awesomeness in one room.  (One room with a lack of air conditioning…but nothing stops teachers from talking shop…laughing…hugging…and eating!)
After lunch, a surprise visitor stopped in for a quick visit!  SMORGIE!!!!   By request from Cierra at Adventures In Room 129, Smorgie came by to say hi and pose for pictures!

Favorite quote of the day:  “OMG there are TWO of them!”

Saturday night we headed to Opryland for some Chuys (more food…do we see a pattern?!) and quality time at the Opryland Resort!
Sunday we wrapped up our weekend at Monell’s for brunch.  Fried chicken for breakfast?!  YES PLEASE!
And I got to meet my Instagram friend Kate from @edukatedawson!  She moved to Nashville SATURDAY and joined us for brunch on Sunday.  Now we’re GoldenDoodle BFFs.  We both have doodles… so we’re GBFFs!
And Sunday night The Mister and I gathered with Stacy, Dana and Lisa to celebrate the end of an amazing weekend!!!!
But I have to save the best for last!!!   The hostesses (and host) with the most!!  I had a blast planning and preparing with these amazing ladies and friends!!!!!!!!   A dude couldn’t ask for better friends, colleagues and party planners!!!!!!!!   Make sure to visit their blogs and leave them some love!
