Letter Recognition: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

You’re gonna need a few materials.  Nothing much at all.

First, write the lowercase letters on the labels.  Make sure to write the letters to the right on the label.  We’re using lowercase because the letter gems are uppercase!

Then you’re going to peel the labels and make a flag around the palm tree pointer.  This is why you want to write the letters to the right off the labels.

Students will then match the letter gem to the palm tree!  Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, here comes A up the coconut tree!!   I will have my students do this activity on our light box/light table so the letters and palm trees glow!  But it can be done just as a center or small group game!

Students can then color the letter on their recording sheet!

The recording sheet is included in our ABCs And 123s creation which is a perfect complement to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!
