Are you looking for CVC word activities that give students a sensory learning experience? Do you have a light box or light table in your classroom? This blog post shows how to make CVC word activities for your lightbox. These are great wordwork activities aligned with the science of reading. These activities allow students to decode, spell, and write words.

CVC WORD BUILDING USING SOLO CUPS

One of our favorite CVC word activities uses plastic Solo cups. The Solo cups were placed in the oven, where they melted into flat discs. We printed the letters and pictures on clear labels and stuck them on the discs. Set your oven to 375 and look for cups that have the number 6 or 7 on the bottom. The number is found in the recycling symbol. NOTE: All ovens are different, and cups change, so you might have to experiment to find the cups and settings that work.
