Happy Friday! I am joining up with TBA’s Freebie Friday to share a CVC center I threw together last year. My students loved using the center and it really helped my struggling students with their segmenting and blending!
I created the Scrabble tiles and attached them to some of the 1 billion plastic tiles I have in my classroom. Is it just me, or do those things breed and multiply?! Here’s my trick…Print the tiles on full sheet label paper from HP and then cut out each ROW (not each tile!). Peel the backing off of the paper and attach your tiles to the paper. And then cut them apart. After an hour or so of cutting each tile and peeling the paper and sticking it on the tile, I finally learned the faster and easier way! Work smarter, not harder, right?!
I then created the CVC words with pictures to help with the blending. The students simply match the tiles to the letters on the word and blend. Lots of fun!
I hope you can use these and i’m sure there are gazillion other use for the Scrabble tiles so I’d love if you left me some love to share other uses!
