Howdy ya’ll!!!
OK…so this year I decided to put a sensory bin into our center time. People….it is epic. The ‘staches love the sensory bin. They love getting their hands into that thing and having some messy fun and I love that I can differentiate the sensory bin and keep it academic!!!
The way I differentiate the activities is two fold:
1. I use different images for different levels. I usually have two different levels so there will be two different images. For example, for this activity it’s a lion (cvc words) and a tiger (cvc-e words).
2. The recording sheets are color coded and contain the same images. So if you’re in the pink group, you would choose a pink recording sheet. The sheet has tigers on it so they know to search the sensory bin for the tiger card!
And really…who doesn’t love brightly colored paper!!!
See…common core is fun!!!
Right now, our sensory bin is filled with green sand that I found at Wal-Mart! They had green, blue, purple and pink. So I got all four colors! Of course…
Since we’re doing zoo animals…I made lions and tigers for our sensory bin!
Here is your freebie! This works great in a sensory bin or as a write the room activity or just in a center!
