It’s time for another installment of SmorgieVision! It’s like Smello-vision but you can’t smell me. Which is probably a good thing…because if you’ve read my blog much you know I have ongoing losing battle with deodorant. Long story.
So, I posted that one of my resolutions was to take a class and make our classroom videos better. Ya’ll clearly do not want that. I got so many messages and comments about not changing our videos. So, we’re gonna stick with the tripod and me moving the camera around videos! It’s as real as it gets here! No fancy camera work…no photographers….or videographers…just a camera, 18 super enthusiastic kids and one teacher.
Today’s video shows one our morning meeting greetings!
It’s pretty simple:
Each kid takes 5 steps forward counting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
At step 5 the student says ” Hi my name is….. and I say hi!”
Take 5 steps back counting 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
At step 10 the student says: “Back it up and meet my friend!”
And the next student takes their turn!
The stepping backwards was great practice for them! I saw a noticeable difference as the week went on in their ability to walk backwards and their confidence!
After the greeting, we share and you’ll see us play the number game.
We’re counting by 10. Whoever is 100 sits down and we continue until just 1 person is left!
Then we do our morning message!
