Schedulin Sunday: Oceans Week 2

It’s OCEAN WEEK  part dos here at the KS World Headquarters!   We had a blast with our first week of ocean learning so I’m pumped for week 2!
TO  SEE OCEAN WEEK 1 AND SNAG EVEN MORE OCEAN FREEBIES CHECK OUT THIS POST!
As always, you can snag my lesson plans by clicking on the picture below!
This week we’re learning about dolphins, octopus, sea stars and seahorses!
For each animal we do a tree map, write about the animal, label the animal and make a simple but ADORBS craft!
Here are our ocean animals from oceans week 1:
This week we will be doing Sheep In A Jeep words for EE Words!
And yes, I dress as a sheep.  And yes we put “sheep” in MY JEEP!

This is our assessment!  The ‘staches make a Jeep and write EE words on the Jeep.  But this year the Jeep will be orange since the big green Jeep is gone!   (Fingers crossed that next year it will still be Orange because I’m really tired of replacing my Jeeps because of uninsured motorists…#realtalk)

In math, we’re working on strengthening our subtraction skills!
This week we will be using a plastic swimming pool, ball pit balls, and a beach ball to practice!   I mean, hello, hands on and engaging math games!
We fill our classroom pool with plastic pools with subtraction equations written on the balls.  Students “dive in” and grab a ball and then subtract!

We will also be using a beach ball.  It’s simple.   Use a Sharpie or Magic Marker to write numbers to 10 on the ball.  Write them gigantor size.
Toss the ball to a student.  Whatever two numbers their hands are touching are used to write the equation.  Can be addition or subtraction!  BAM!
(This freebie contains a recording sheet for addition and one for subtraction!)
This week we’re also going to the children’s theatre and we have Steve Ettinger visiting our school to talk about fitness and Yoga!
As always here are some freebies for ya!
Here are the resources we’re using this week:
