Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, here comes Schedulin’ Sunday and our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Week!
Here are my first week lesson plans. We start with two half days and then day 3 starts our full days! Click the image to download my lesson plans!
This week we continue our ABC BOOTCAMP and NUMBER BOOTCAMP! This week is letters D-H and numbers 2-6!
Circle maps! Hats! Handwriting!
And yes, it’s Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Week!
So we’re gonna be reading “chicken chicken” boom boom all week and doing lots of fun alphabet activities this week! And….stay tuned for a brand new CCBB activity featuring Mr. Greg. Let’s just say stuff has been ordered and purchased and it’s gonna be pretty epic. (I think…)
We kick off our week with a big book called Animals In The Park and then we get to POP BALLOONS! Inside each balloon is a letter! We identify the letters and put them in order on our pocket chart! For a fun video of this activity, check out this Chicka Chicka Boom Boom post!
Each day we will use our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom predictable chart! We read the chant and I put Post-It Notes on the chart with uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and our names! This helps build fluency while learning letters, numbers and names!
Check out this VIDEO to see this in action!
Then we have to find the letters so we go on some letter hunts! We our our font sort letters to identify the letters and sort the letters! For more on our font sort and a FREEBIE, check out our font sort post!
AR! We read Shiver Me Letters and go on a letter treasure hunt! We cut out letters from magazines and glue them on our chart!

This week in math we’re working on numbers and counting! We will explore our math manipulatives, find numbers and count! The best part of these math activities is that they are SIMPLE and provide some great information on our students!
First, we do a simple number recognition activity where we point to numbers. This helps give me some quick information on my students number recognition. Click the images for more on this activity and your free number mats!
Then we will work on using ten frames for one to one correspondence with a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom twist!
We use SITSPOTS tape to make our ten frame! Check out SitSpots for their tape and their other Spots for classroom management and learning activities!
Check out video of this activity here!
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Five Senses
We use a coconut to introduce our five senses! We explore our coconut with the five senses, including tasting the coconut!
Foodie Fun Friday
And finally, we eat! For the past few years, we’ve made this fun Chicka Chicka Boom Boom snack!
