Zoo Animals Research Project
In keeping with our district’s scope and sequence, we are continuing our three week animal unit and zoo animals activities. We will be doing zoo animals and ocean animals. The culminating task for this research project is to design and exhibit for our zoo. That means we’re focused on animals that our zoo doesn’t have! We are also focused on animals habitats and threats to the animals and their habitats.
This week we are learning about elephants, lions, cheetahs and hippos!. Each day we will use a read aloud to research about animals and animal habitats. The students share their learning on our graphic organizer and then write about the animals in their research journals. As part of the writing, students will draw the animal in their habitat.
We will also label the animal and do a directed drawing of the animal!
