Happy Monday! Did everyone have a good Monday? One day down, four more until Friday! I will say my class did well today. We introduced centers for reading and math today and it went very well. I think being able to move around and being more hands on with their learning helped a lot. We also introduced Daily 5 and the two ways to read a book! Tomorrow we dive into Read to Self. With all of that going on, we did well…despite no recess because of rain.
Here are a couple of pictures from some projects we did last week! The first picture is a picture of our finished bean names! We did these on Friday and I was finally able to get them displayed. I display these all year long. I just love the way they look. The second picture is a picture of our Olympic rings that we did last week. We watched some of the Olympics and talked about being the best at what you do. I love that they can make a connection between being the best at something and practicing and how that works in school! We will use that analogy every day this year! This project was also a teamwork project because each group had 1 person who colored 1 ring. Without their teammates, our Olympic rings would not be complete. I love the Olympics and all of the lessons they can teach us all. And even though the Olympic Closing Ceremony was last night, we are going to celebrate all month!! Because we can…And I do what I want!
I am linking up with A Turn To Learn to share my first day jitters…My first day was 8 days ago, but trust me, I can always remember that first day feeling!
