Well, daylight savings time was no fun this morning. I did not like being in the car and driving to work in the dark! But it turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL day! We had a great Monday despite a CRAZY schedule change and lots of visitors in our school! The day ended with me leading a PD session on creating QR codes!
Who doesn’t love QR codes?! If you’re not using them in your class, you need to be. They’re engaging and cool and hip….you know, like ME! Seriously, my ‘staches LOVE them. I love using them because they are so versatile and make differentiating easy!
What is a qr code? It’s basically a picture of a website that only QR reader apps can read. The QR code directs you to a website or something store on a website. For example, these 3 QR codes direct you to my Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram accounts. Seriously, try it! Scan them with your QR reader app on your phone (search the app store for QR Reader or SCAN).
I taught myself how to make QR codes with some googling and YouTube videos. It’s a fairly easy process, just tedious with lots of steps. Today I taught some awesome teachers how to make QR codes! Here is the video from that session. I hope it helps inspire some of you to journey into QR codes. Let me know if you have any questions on how to create these glitter-ific tools for learning!
