I hope you’re enjoy the Bright Ideas Linky Party and are loading up on bright ideas!
If you’re like me, you’re a basket hoarder. I can’t help it. Everytime I’m at the Dollar Tree or Deals or Wal-Mart I buy some more baskets. Hey…as I tell the mister…you know I need every.single.one.of.these.baskets. Well, today I am showing you a great way to use those baskets!
One of my favorite activities is Walking, Reading and Writing The Room and Walking, Reading and Counting/Adding/Subtracting The Room! The problem is that it’s hard to keep it organized and easily accessed by my differentiated groups. I tried sitting on the floor. No go. Basket death by little feet. I tried keeping folders behind my desk. Too much time for Mr. Greg. And then it hit me. BAM! It was like a glitter explosion! USE THE WALL!
I placed 1 command hook on the wall and placed the basket on hook. That allowed me to place the second hook in the correct place.
Then I attached basket to the hooks. BAM!
Each basket coordinates with the colors of my literacy groups and math groups. I put the sheets for writing the room in the basket. They can just grab one and go. No more stress!

Love this idea!! The nice people at 3M really should give these hooks away to teachers…I don't know how I would get through the year without using them lots of places in my classroom! Thanks for sharing…now off to the Dollar Tree!
Love this idea, Greg! Thanks for sharing.
Ok! I just fell in love with idea! So clever! I am always thinking “If only I could hang a basket!” and now I can. I, too, have a basket fetish. It's bad!! The mister gets mad and threatens to throw them away or tries with very little success to dissuade me from buying them! Ha! Thank you for this BRIGHT idea!

This just gave me another idea. I find myself fishing for the original because someone has used the last one but if I out a white copy of the original in a plastic sheet the kids would know to tell me I needed more.
Brilliant!! Just brilliant!
Oh how I wish I had more wall space! I do need to get some of those command hooks though! Mahalo for sharing!
I've been trying to figure out a way to maximize space in my classroom. This looks like a winner! Thanks 🙂
I LOVE this and am so doing this MONDAY, outside my door, for a way to collect my homework while I am out of the room. Love, love, love.

This is such a great idea! This will save me next year when I have bookshelves snatched away from me for the new teacher being hired ;).

Cool idea! (And I love your simile “glitter explosion”.)
II’m having a difficult time finding these baskets, or ones similar to them. Do you have the link for them?
Eeek…that was like 5 years ago. They were likely hand-me-downs but could you tell us exactly what baskets you are referring to? You can email us at kindersmorgie@gmail.com.
