“I’m a rockstar.”  With those words, Smedley’s Smorgasboard of Kindergarten and The Kindergarten Smorgasboard were born 2 years ago today.    It’s been an amazing, glittery, hilarious 2 years.  It has been 2 years of becoming a better teacher because of each blog post, each comment, each video and question.  Lord…2 years…are ya’ll tired of me yet?!  I hope not because, in the words of my idol Oprah,  RUN ON!  I got plenty more to say and do!    But seriously, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the constant support, friendship, love and for allowing me to be…well… ME!  Ya’ll make me a better teacher and a better person.  So, we should celebrate, right?!
People, I have some awesome things planned for the next few days.  One of my give aways was a total OMG moment for me…I mean, I might have screamed in my classroom when I got word.  Stay tuned.
But let’s kick off this birthday bonanza with one of my most favorite classroom tools.
People, do you GoNoodle????
GoNoodle is a FREE brain breaks website that gets your class up and moving for 5 minutes at a time.  Brain breaks=engagement.  Engagement=learning.  GoNoodle=EPIC FUN!!!  My class begs to GoNoodle all day everyday.

We will do a brain break video and then use the flow or air time brain break which is Yoga.  This calms us down and brings our focus back to our learning.  Seriously…this stuff is amazing.

I mean we LOVE GoNoodle.

We are very lucky that GoNoodle is our neighbor here in Nashville.  True story.  They even come visit our classroom.  And they came to our Field Day and brought us GoNoodle headbands!
AND GET THIS!  This Friday, I get to go visit the GoNoodle offices!!!!  TRUE STORY!!!!
This is Taylor from GoNoodle!  My class ADORES her!!!!!

And now for the goods.  GoNoodle is a free website BUT there is a premium upgrade which gets you more brain breaks and lots of other great perks.  I have the premium upgrade and LOVE IT!!!  The upgrade is $99 for one year.  BUT one lucky person will win a FREE PREMIUM UPGRADE!!!
Hold the phone.  You heard right.  Who wants to win a FREE premium GoNoodle membership?!?!?!?!

We do a ton of brain breaks in my class! I've never used GoNoodle before, but I'm about to check it out! I wish I had more than a few more days left with my kiddos to try it out with them. Next year!

    Thanks for sharing.

I love your blog! It brightens my day to read about the fun things you do in your classroom. I have loved reading all of the “Fire Drill” stories this year! What will you do without her next year? Love the glitter bombs! How do you get them calmed down afterward?
