A Kindergarten Smorgasboard Schedulin Sunday: October 11th, 2015

Well, all good things must come to an end!   While I have enjoyed my weeklong fall break, I am super excited to get back to school and see my little ‘staches!!   I am rested which means I have lots of energy to do lots of fun, wild, messy things with the ‘staches!
Yes…we get a week of in October.   It’s a glorious break.  Everyone really should have one.  Write your school board and tell them Mr. Greg said you get a fall break!
So who’s ready to see what we have planned for the week?!
As always, you can grab my lesson plans by clicking on the picture!
This week we are learning all things fire and firefighters and fire safety!
Fingers crossed for the firetruck to come visit!
We will be reading these books this week:
We will be writing about firefighters, making tree maps about firefighters.  We will be making brace maps for the parts of a firefighter and the parts of a fire truck.
We will make a firedog hat.  Of course there is a hat!   You can’t learn without silly hats!  #sillyhatsrequired
This is easy to make:  sentence strip and the kids use black paint and their fingers to make the dots.
The ears are shoes!   We trace our shoes on white paper (fold it in half so you just have to trace 1 time and cut 1 time) and use the black paint and fingers to make the dots.
Cut out the fire hat and glue on!  BAM!  Firedog hat!
We will make a firetruck cookie.
We will make a firefighter!
This cute guy is from Mrs. Lee’s Kindergarten.   This year I am not going to use a pattern.  I’m going to give directions for each piece and let the ‘staches make their own unique firefighters!
In math, this week is all about tally marks!
We’re going to use pool noodles and popsicle sticks to make tally marks!
We’re going to draw tally marks!
And to assess our learning, we’re going to make tally marks posters!
And that is our short 4 day week!!!  As always we’re super busy!!!!!!  We’re having a blast and making a mess!  And we’re learning!
#happyclassrooms
And of course, I have freebies for you!
Click on the pictures for your freebies!
And for counting on, here’s a fun center/workstation/hippopotamus!   All you need is a dice!
These are the creations we’ll be using in our class this week!
I’m linking up with my friend Deedee for Peek At My Week!  Make sure you stop by and check out all of the other great posts for more ideas!
