Schedulin’ Sunday: American Symbols

Happy Schedulin’ Sunday ya’ll!!!   This is a very short week for us.  Labor Day and an In-Service day Tuesday means we have a 3 day week.  So we’re going to cram as much learning and FUN and glitter into those 3 days as possible!
As always, you can download me weekly lesson plans below:
This week we’re continuing ABC BOOTCAMP with the letters U, V and W!
That means circle maps and handwriting!  And UNDERWEAR hat (yes we are!), a vampire hat and a waffle hat!

This week we’re spending our 3 days learning about American symbols in honor of September 11th and the upcoming Constitution Day!

We’re going to learn about The American Flag, The White House and The Statue Of Liberty!  We will read a book and complete a tree map for each symbol.  We also make a fun art project for each craft!

In math, we have finished NUMBER BOOTCAMP so we’re moving onto counting on.

We will do it mentally and verbally whole group to introduce the skill.  Then we will use our Sit Spots to make a number line to 20 and we will practice counting on using our number line.  This can be differentiated so all students can be successful in practicing.    (Stay tuned for a blog post or video or live video of this activity!)

We will also do some independent practice with counting on.  We will roll a dice, write the number and count on.

We will do Mad Science Friday and make Dancing Colors!

Here are some freebies for ya!

And here are the resources we’re using this week:
