MARCH READ ALOUDS AND BOOKS

Our classroom has a book display shelf to display our books for a theme, unit, holiday, or month. I love displaying the books because the kids can see the covers and get excited about the books. In this post, we’re sharing our March read-alouds and book collections and our favorite read-aloud! Note: these are not comprehensive lists but simply the books we use/have in our classroom. We are constantly adding to our library, so feel free to suggest your favorite titles!

St. Patrick’s Day

We love the How To Catch books from Sourcebooks. These books are great for sequencing and retelling, and they’re great for rich vocabulary instruction. Of course, they have a built-in STEM focus! If you do leprechaun traps in your classroom, this is the perfect read-aloud before creating leprechaun traps!

Weather

We spent about three weeks learning about the weather and tracking the weather. Our weather unit starts with my absolute favorite book, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs! Kids love this book, and I love our real/fantasy lesson because it teaches kids that even fiction books can have real aspects.
