Four Seasons Lesson Plans:

Seasons Research Project: People In The Seasons

In keeping with our district’s scope and sequence, we’re wrapping up our new Seasons Research Project with some four seasons lesson plans on people, animals and plants.    We will be focusing on how people, animals and plants adapt and change with the seasons.  This is a new research project for us and it’s been going so well.  Last week we focused our four seasons lesson plans on animals and had great discussions and great writing about animals adaptations  in different seasons.    This week our focus is on  how people  adapt and change for each season!

We will read a book about people in each season.  We will complete a graphic organizer for each season after having the students turn and talk about the season.  The students will then draw and write about how people adapt and change in the seasons.

Math:  Decomposing Numbers

In math we are working on decomposing numbers.  This is a skill we work on to help us with addition and subtraction.

We will be using our Math It Up:  Decomposing Numbers: Number bonds  resource!

We will use giant number bonds on the floor to introduce decomposing numbers.
